Early 1940s Zip Front Embroidered Sequin Jacket as is
Fabricated in rayon crepe
Fully lined in rayon lining
Fastens down center front with a Waldes metal tooth separating zipper down center front
Fitted with darts at the front and back waist
Embellished with metallic soutache in a scrolling floral motif, antique brass colored nailheads and dark burnished gold gelatin sequins
Full length sleeves with pleated sleeve caps and a Talon metal toothed zipper at the wrists
Maker: Unknown. No labels.
Condition: Fair/Good. There is discoloration to the fabric around the armholes and a few small abrasions and holes just above the bust dart on the wearer’s left. The sequins are gelatin and some have melted. I added stitching to the lining at the back neck. See photos. Freshly dry cleaned, arrives clean and ready to wear.
